Giving a voice to your animal’s inner world

What animal communication is (and why it feels so different)

I’m Rachel, an Intuitive Animal Communicator and Mentor, working with clients across the UK and worldwide.  Animal communication, as I practise it, begins by stepping out of the familiar way we see our animal companions and into theirs.

It’s an invitation to pause the labels, stories and assumptions we’ve gathered over time, and to enter a quieter, more spacious way of listening.

Here, your animal companion is met not as a problem to solve, but as a conscious being with their own inner world. A world shaped by sensation, emotion, memories and meaning.

When that inner world is allowed to come forward, our perspective shifts. What once felt confusing or overwhelming begins to change. New understanding appears, and the relationship grows and deepens.

This is the space I hold, giving a voice to your animal’s inner world, and letting their perspective guide what unfolds next.

When our 6-year-old Vizsla suddenly couldn’t be left alone, Rachel’s guidance made ALL the difference. In just two weeks we saw meaningful progress, and our whole family learned so much from the process. Rachel truly is the bridge between our world and theirs.”

Who this work is for

This work is for you if you love your animal companion deeply and sense there’s more going on beneath the surface. You may be feeling worried, curious, or seeking clarity about how they are experiencing life, their body, or your shared world together.

You might already sense that your animal is more than just a companion. That they are a guide, teacher, or messenger in your life, even if you can’t quite put that into words yet. You feel there is a deeper conversation wanting to happen, and you’re open to listening.

Above all, this work is for you if you want to understand your animal more fully and explore your relationship with them in a way that feels honest, grounded, and alive.

People come to me in all kinds of situations

Behavioural concerns

You may be living with behaviours that feel confusing, worrying, or out of character. Across all species, behaviour is simply communication. These sessions create space to understand what your animal companion is expressing and what they need to feel more settled and understood.

Health concerns

You may be navigating physical or emotional health questions and feel there’s something your animal companion wants you to hear alongside any veterinary or holistic support you’re already exploring. This work offers perspective on how your animal experiences their body and what they need.

Life transitions

Changes such as moving house, family shifts, new animals, travel, or altered routines can affect animals deeply. These sessions help you understand how your animal is experiencing change and how to move through it together.

End-of-life support

You may be facing difficult decisions and want to understand how your animal feels, what matters to them, and how to find more peace and connection during this time.

Grief and animal companions in spirit

You may be missing an animal who has passed over and wish to reconnect, receive comfort, or hear their perspective in a way that supports healing.

Deepening an already strong bond

You may simply want to know your animal companion more deeply, experience life from their perspective, and nurture a relationship that already feels meaningful.

At the heart of all of this is a simple wish: to hear from your animal companion and understand them more fully.

How a session works

I’m based in East Sussex and work with clients all over the world via distance communication and online calls.

Step 1 – Booking & intentions

You book a session and share:

  • A photo of your animal (living or in spirit)
  • What you’d like to explore
  • Any context that feels important

We can chat via email or WhatsApp — whichever feels most comfortable.

Step 2 – Quiet connection with your animal

Before we speak, I sit with your animal in silence.

I connect to my body and senses and receive information through:

  • Images or scenes
  • Emotions and “felt sense”
  • Physical sensations
  • Words, impressions or clear knowing

They lead. I listen.

I explore your questions and I stay guided by what they most want to share.

Step 3 – Our session together

We meet on an audio or video call.

Throughout the session, I remain connected with your animal. I’ll

  • Share in detail what your animal has shown me
  • Explore meaning and themes together
  • Highlight insights arising in the shared emotional–energetic field
  • Help you explore practical and creative possibilities and ideas going forward

You’ll receive a recording afterwards so you can simply be present during the call.

What kind of information comes through?

Every animal communicates in their own way, but common themes include:

How they feel in their body

Physical needs, sensitivities, comfort, preferences, and how their body is experiencing their world.

Dog relaxing on the floor, enjoying a peaceful moment.

Their emotional world

What feels good, unsettling or important; how emotions move through their body; what emotional needs are asking to be heard.

Their inner perspective

How they see themselves, their role, their relationships, their home, and the wider world around them.

Animal communication and natural healing methods for pets and wildlife.

The story behind a behaviour

What the behaviour feels like from the inside, and what helps them feel safe, understood and supported.

Messages or wisdom for you

Often deep, surprising and beautifully insightful. Animals sense far more than we realise.

Creative and practical possibilities

Guidance, reframes and invitations they offer for your shared life.

Animals are always authentic.

They feel deeply, and they sense the ever-changing emotional–energetic field they share with us.

They never blame, shame or criticise. Everything they share is offered with sensitivity and intention, in service of deeper connection, fuller understanding, and a shared life where both of you can thrive.

Behaviour is communication. Not a problem to “fix”

Many people come to me feeling worried or unsure because nothing seems to be helping.

They might ask:

“Can you tell her to stop barking?”

“Can you tell him he doesn’t need to be scared?”

What we often discover is that:

  • Behaviour is honest communication, expression of emotion in the moment
  • Guardian and animal are part of the same emotional–energetic ecosystem
  • A behaviour may be expressing an unmet need or emotional truth
  • Animals often pick up on feelings we haven’t yet recognised in ourselves

An example

A guardian came to me because his dog barked when left alone and was labelled as having “separation anxiety.”

As I connected with the dog, it became clear the barking wasn’t about ‘being alone’.

When his guardian left for work feeling unhappy, the barking was intense. When he left to do something he enjoyed, it was minimal. The dog was responding to the emotional state they shared, not to separation itself.

Once his guardian’s work situation changed and he felt happier, the barking eased naturally.

It’s so human to slide into “the dog is the problem.”

This work meets you exactly there — gently, without judgement, and through the eyes of your animal.

The aim isn’t to silence behaviour, but to understand and explore it, so you and your animal can move forward together with more clarity, empathy and ease.

What this work is (and what it isn’t)

This work is:

A deep, intuitive, sacred space to receive your animal’s truth

A partnership between you and your animal, unique to your relationship

A way to gain perspective, clarity, relief and new possibilities

A space where both of you can feel seen, understood and supported

An opportunity to explore life together, rather than trying to work it out alone

This work is not:

A replacement for veterinary or behavioural support

Medical diagnosis or treatment advice

A quick fix to switch off behaviour

Animals “telling on” you

I do not work with missing animals, and I never diagnose health conditions.

I share what your animal shows me so you, your vet, your behaviourist and other professionals can make informed decisions together.

This work sits beautifully alongside all other forms of care, it’s often the missing piece of the jigsaw.

How people tend to feel after a session

Clients often describe leaving sessions feeling:

  • More deeply connected to their animal
  • Softer, less guilty, less self-critical
  • Clearer about what’s truly going on
  • More flexible and creative in their approach
  • Reassured, validated and supported
  • Like a team with their animal, rather than on opposing sides

The deepest transformation is simple and profound:

When we truly listen to our animals, understanding deepens and our connection expands beyond what we imagined possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. All communication is at a distance, and sessions are held via audio or video call.

I can share what the behaviour feels like from the animal’s perspective and what may be beneath it. This work isn’t about commanding animals to stop behaviours.

It’s about understanding their experience, their emotions, and the story behind what they’re communicating, so we can find a way forward together.

No. Animals are honest but never shaming.

They care about connection, truth and harmony. Not judgement.

Scepticism is welcome. Curiosity makes for a beautiful session.
