First, I want to say something to anyone reading this.
The fact that you’re here, that you’ve searched for this, that you’re thinking about how to make this experience as rich as possible for your pets, says everything about who you are. The people who come to animal communication sessions are a particular kind of person. They love their pets to a whole other level. They go that extra mile to understand, to support, to really show up for the other species they share their life with and I want to genuinely honour that.
Now, to answer your question.
Your pet doesn’t need to prepare at all
I know that might not be what you expected to read. But here’s the truth: your animal companion is always communicating. They don’t need to be sitting quietly at home, or resting, or even in the same room as you. They don’t need to be on the video call. None of that matters because this is about connecting with the blueprint of who they are, their energy, their essence.
This is telepathy. It’s an essence-to-essence, heart-to-heart connection that has nothing to do with physical proximity. It’s why I can connect with animals across the other side of the world just as clearly as one down the road. And it’s why I can connect with animals who have crossed into spirit.
The preparation is really for you
What will make the difference to your session is how you show up and even that doesn’t need to be complicated.
You don’t need to perform. Our animals are always authentically themselves. They don’t do pretence and they don’t do fake positivity. And this session is a space where you don’t have to either. Come nervous, come emotional, come sceptical, it’s all welcome. There is no right or wrong way to arrive. Just be yourself. That’s more than enough.
Spend a little time beforehand thinking about why you’ve come. Not writing a formal list of questions, just sitting quietly and feeling into what matters most to you. What do you want to explore? What have you been wondering about? What would it mean to you to really hear from them?
Some people come with no questions at all. They simply want to be led, to hear everything their pet wants to share, without an agenda. That’s a beautiful way to approach a session. Others come with very specific things they want to explore. Both are completely valid. There is no topic that is off the table, and there is no question you can get wrong.
Make sure you have an uninterrupted hour. Put your phone on silent, let people in your household know you’re not to be disturbed, make yourself a cup of tea. This is your time, yours and your animal’s.
You don’t need to take notes. You’ll receive a recording of the session, so you can go back and listen as many times as you need. Some people find it helpful to have a pen and paper nearby anyway, just for their own process, but don’t let note-taking pull you out of presence. The most important thing is that you’re fully there.
The photo
Most animal communicators will ask for a photo of your animal beforehand, and I’m no different. But here’s what I want you to know: it really doesn’t matter which photo you choose.
It doesn’t need to be a close-up of their eyes. It can be their face, their whole body, a casual snap from any moment. The photo simply serves as an anchor, a way for me to know with certainty that I’m connecting with that specific being. That’s all it is.
How we connect
I offer sessions on Zoom, which means I can work with animals anywhere in the world. But I also completely understand that not everyone has a stable Wi-Fi connection, particularly if you’re in a more remote or rural area. In that case, we can do a simple audio call instead.
Some people prefer not to have a voice call at all, and that’s fine too. We can work via WhatsApp or email. What matters isn’t the technology, it’s that we have a dedicated time where I can share your animal’s messages and we can have a real conversation about what comes through.
And that conversation piece is important. This isn’t me writing you a transcript and sending it over. It’s a two-way exchange, you, me, and your animal companion, where I share what comes through, you reflect back, we unpack anything that needs more exploration, and I can go back to your animal if there’s more to receive. It’s a team effort.

After the session
Some messages will land immediately in the session. You’ll know, it’ll be obvious, undeniable, completely them. Others will settle more slowly. They’ll percolate. They’ll ripple forward as quiet guidance, shifting something in how you see and relate to your animal in the days and weeks ahead.
So after your session, I’d encourage you to stay in that hyperaware state for a while. You’ve opened a door. Something has shifted — in you, and in the relationship between you. Your animal is sensing everything around them, within their environment, within their relationships, within you. They always were. But now you know it differently.
Stay open. Notice things. Enjoy the ripple effects of their wisdom.
Because this is where the real gift of animal communication lives, not just in the session itself, but in everything that opens up afterwards.

Sessions are held remotely – wherever you are in the world. Your animal doesn’t need to be present. All you need to bring is an open heart and your questions.
